YOU CAN make a difference by helping elderly and disabled people to live a fuller independent life in their own home.
What does the job involve?
Some of our clients need minimal assistance with personal care; others need total help with:
- Getting up, washing and dressing etc.
- Shopping
- Cleaning
- Companionship
- You will live with the client for at least a week at a time. Actual shift patterns by
- agreement
- You will be provided with your own bedroom and food and drinks
- You will work up to 10 hours of unmeasured work per day
- You will get a 2 hour break per day at a time to be agreed with the client
Do I get regular clients?
Yes, we try where possible, and ensure you look after the same clients regularly.
I haven’t got any care experience. Does that make a difference?
No, experience helps but as long as you have a caring nature, we will give you all the training you need.
What training will be given?
We will give you a comprehensive induction before you start working and support you to gain the nationally recognised Care Certificate. We offer all staff the opportunity to undertake a Diploma Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care. We also have an on-going training programme which provides condition specific training covering for example Dementia, Parkinson’s Disease and Diabetes.
I am very experienced. Do I still need to do the training?
Yes you do, even though you have experience you need to be familiar with company policies and procedures and the latest legislation regarding home care.
What will I be paid? When will I be paid? Will I be paid mileage?
Competitive pay rates - please contact us. You will be paid every 4 weeks, which is paid directly into your bank account. You will be paid mileage - please contact us to check the rates
If I have any problems, what should I do?
Whatever the problem you should contact the office or out of office hours, the on-call manager. There will always be somebody at the end of the phone to help you.
